Module B - Dissemination

In the horisontal module B the highly valuable new knowledge and methodologies will be incorporated into university and non-academic curricula and training programs.  A platform for public-private knowledge dissemination to a multitude of SMEs will be established and practical training programmes for industry employees will be conducted. Information to universities, industry, press and consumers will be distributed by the web-site, in newsletters, scientific publications and conferences.

Disseminating knowledge of project results to consumers, industry and universities is the main focus of module B.

An important link is created between the innovative knowledge arising from the research and demonstration modules and the different players in the pork production chain. This ensures, that the stakeholders are kept up to date with the newest knowledge in relation to high quality pork products that matches the consumers’ demands.

Project results will be implemented in education and training programmes directed towards universities, non-academic institutions as well as the industry. The educational format will also include e-learning.

A problem-based educational format will be emphasised. This will encourage students to integrate knowledge from different disciplines, develop effective learning strategies, and to be more actively involved in their learning of consumer behaviour and market research, pig production, genetics, animal welfare, meat science and processing, food safety, quality management and nutritional science.

The most important ways of ensuring use and dissemination of project results is through the involvement of the industry in the platform for public-private knowledge dissemination. Furthermore a big issue is the public general awareness rising regarding the potentials and outcome of the project .
